Sheila Ann Bryant, an 18-year-old resident of Kannapolis, was last seen on February 26, 1997, when she left her home to walk to a nearby payphone. When she failed to return, her mother reported her missing. Days later, on March 2, 1997, Bryant’s body was discovered at a former gravel pit in Concord.
